Weekend fun in the Sun

This past weekend was a blast. Friday night we went shopping for our picnic stuff for Saturday. Saturday we woke up and got ready to leave the house by 10am. We went up to Thanksgiving point where the UVU auto show was and checked out all the cars and took pictures. We then had a picnic on the lawns and then watched a Dinosaur IMAX 3D movie. It was pretty cool. We then went back to the auto show for a little bit. We then went to Wal-Mart to get some groceries and then played outside for the rest the evening. By 7pm, I was pretty tired and the boys were tired as well. We got some good sun. We watched Wallace and Grommit cartoon and we fell asleep to Short Circuit, except for Tavian, who woke me up after the movie and said it was over. We then went straight to bed cause we were so tired. The next day was a lovely day at church and after we played outside for a little bit and just had fun.

May 2nd

This past weekend was quite fun. It wasn't sunny like we were expecting it to be, but the rain is always nice!

Friday night we just went home, played some Wii, watched a movie, and the boys have really taken up reading comic books at night, which is cool cause I have like 50 comic books and that gives me plenty of reading material for them. Each night we go to bed reading a book and telling a story. We've gotten into some really interesting stories. Each one of of tell a story and we sometimes just lay in bed laughing.

The next morning we had breakfast and cleaned up the house a little bit. We then decided to take a trip to Park City and see what was going on up there. It was a fun trip. It rained really hard on the way up there and the boys stuck their heads out the window and got wet (plus, it stung so they didn't do it that long, but loved it). We strolled up the the streets, checked out the cool houses, and came back home. We bbq'd some hamburgers for dinner and the boys said they were the best hamburgers they ever had (oh yeah)!

Sunday was very nice as it was sunny most of the day. Church is very close so we walked to church. The boys like their classes and are doing really well in class and listening to their teachers. Afterwards, we had some snacks and we met up with some others from the ward with their kids and we all played outside until it started getting stormy. We headed inside and finished off the evening.

This weekend the boys will be with mom for Mother's Day and I hope that they have a a good time. I'll miss them.

Life

Well, let's see, where to start. I intend to use this blog to help people keep up with me and my life (thanks Ash for the idea!). I'm sure many of you are wondering, "What has Shane been up to?" Well, for starters, if you don't already know, I'm single once again. And for those who are really out of the loop, I was married for almost 5 years.

I now have 2 beautiful, full-of-energy boys. Tavian "S" Sorensen, being the oldest, is now 6 years old. He is in Kindergarten and loving it and is a very social boy. We get along really well, and he's trying really hard to beat Dad at everything, which is cool. Marek Wesley Sorensen, is 4 years old, and I call him the "Red Bean" because he's short, has light red hair, and loves to jump around. He's also known to be called a "Wiggly Worm" because he just can't keep still, which is ok. He loves playing the Wii and is most of the time a very happy boy, and he's just too cute. He might be starting Preschool soon, but honestly, he's probably 1st grade material. He can read, count to 1 from 20; count from 1 to 100, and I think he almost has the alphabet memorized, backwards! He can count cards pretty quickly too!

I moved up to Utah a couple years ago to be near them after my divorce. Let's just say things have been rocky between my former wife and I, but my relationship with my boyz gets stronger week by week. I get to see them every weekend, which is nice, because I would be bored out of my mind on the weekends without them.

I've managed to make some friends while being here in Utah, although close ones are hard to come by. I try to stay social, I work out before work every morning (well, ok, I just started), and I work a lot.

I started a Durable Medical Equipment company with someone I met through a close friend of mine, and we have become to be really good friends. She treats me like I'm part of her family, since I don't have much family up here, so I'm really thankful for that. The business has been up and running for a year now and I run the operations part of it. Since I don't know much about the medical field, I rely on my partners to help me understand. We work as a great team, and we all do our part to keep the business growing. We're located in Springville, UT, and specialize in Sleep Apnea and Oxygen Supplies.

I try to do active things while I'm with my boyz on the weekend. We love to go outdoors and did a lot of sledding in the winter, and can't wait to do a lot of swimming and fishing and camping in the summer.

That's it for now, and I'll try to update this on a weekly basis (don't hold me to that comittment though)!
